Job Title Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment
Job Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction & Assessment shall lead and influence the district's curricular and instructional programs in its pursuit of excellence. The Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment shall oversee, coordinate and supervise the district wide, instructional program, assessment and standardized testing; curriculum planning, implementation, and evaluation; program development and evaluation; career technical education; plan professional development opportunities, 21st century learning; provide training for, implementation of and oversight for district-wide instructional framework; work with schools for school improvement using assessment data to ensure school accountability; assist the Superintendent substantially and effectively in the task of providing leadership in developing, achieving, and maintaining the highest quality educational programs and services; and supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff.

Job Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS a. Required: 1. Possess a Master’s Degree in Education Administration, Business, or a related field. 2. Possess a valid Administrative Services Credential. 3. Minimum of 5 years of successful, teaching experience in a K-12 classroom. 4. Minimum of 5 years of successful administrative and/or pupil personnel experience in a K-12 school or district. 5. Knowledge and understanding of curriculum development and program evaluation, child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment, student achievement data analysis, Career and University Pathways, Career Technical Education, and research related to learning. 6. Demonstrate excellent leadership and organizational skills and the ability to motivate people. 7. Proficient in current technology, computer programs and applications. 8. Highly effective communication and presentation skills (oral and written). 9. Ability to collaborate and work effectively with other stakeholders including parents and other community members. 10. Possess a valid California driver’s license. 11. Possess a valid EL Authorization. b. Desirable: 1. Possess a Doctorate Degree from an accredited college or university. 2. Prior experience coordinating and conducting staff development activities and curricular programs. 3. Director-level experience. 4. Bilingual (English/Spanish). c. Ability to: 1. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with a variety of groups and individuals. 2. Provides leadership in personnel policy and represents the District’s goals and values.

Compensation Depending on prior experience, annual salary range
